Shielded multi-pin connector for electrical equipment - has composite connector with permanent magnets and dielectric plate to minimise disturbances

The electrical connector system for high sensitivity electrical equipment is designed to minimise disturbances due to external electro-magnetic radiations. The coupling has an insulated housing (171) with an internal wall (181) that provides location for connecting pins (191). Cylindrical rings (211) of permanent magnetic material locate over the pins and fit into recesses in the housing. A conducting plate (231) with an elongated slot fits into the housing and has projecting prongs (251). A dielectric plate (261) with embedded electrodes (281) and holes for the connecting pins completes the unit together with cylindrical magnetic cylinders. The assembly is cast into a hard epoxy resin and shielding cover (311) encloses the unit.
