PURPOSE:To retard occurrence of unevenness in picture image even if fluctuation of developing temp. is inevitable, by heating in the presence of a specified compd. CONSTITUTION:Heating is performed in the presence of a compd. expressed by the formula 1 (wherein R is H or a group selected from formulas 2-4; R<11> and R<12> may be same or different to each other, or may form together a 5- or 6-membered ring; Q is H, alkyl or aryl; TIME is a timing group; PUG is a photographically necessary group; n is zero or an integer; Z is a number of atoms necessary for the formation of benzene ring). Heat development photosensitive material comprising silver halide as photosensitive body is most preferred. The heating is executed at ca.80-ca.250 deg.C, more suitably at 110-180 deg.C. Among photographically necessary groups, those exhibiting particularly distinct effect by blocking as expressed by the formula 1 are development restrainers, wherein a restrainer expressed by the formula 5 has particularly high effect.
