PURPOSE:To prevent the wear and tear, and corrosion of electrodes and to generate a stable ion flow by providing the 1st and the 2nd electrodes across a dielectric, covering the 2nd electrode with an thin insulating film, and applying an alternating voltage between both electrodes. CONSTITUTION:An ion generating device 1 is provided with the 1st electrode 3 and the 2nd electrode 4 across a dielectric layer 2, the 1st electrode 3 is coated with an insulator layer 6, and the 2nd electrode 4 is coated with the thin insulating film 5. Further, a screen electrode 7 is arranged below the 2nd electrode 4. In this constitution, the alternating voltage is applied between both electrodes 3 and 4 to cause electrostatic discharge in the air gap of an opening part 4, and the ion flow is stuck on a charge holding member 10 to perform specific electrostatic recording. Consequently, the wear and tear, and corrosion of the electrode 4 are prevented to improve the durability, and the stable ion flow is generated. |
