PURPOSE:To prevent the extinction of display even if a switch is operated by mistake after the finish of measurement, by discriminating the point of time when a temp. measured value begins to fall and prohibiting the operation stop function of the switch for a predetermined time from said point of time. CONSTITUTION:The temp. corresponding to bodily temp. is converted to an electric signal by a temp. sensor 7 while the electric signal is converted to a digital value by an A/D converter 8 to be taken in CPU 9 and stored in a memory 10. CPU 9 up- dates the max. value of measured temp. and the renewal value is held and stored in the memory 10 and displayed on a display device 4. The rising rate of the measured temp. is calculated to judge whether said rising rate became lower than a predetermined value and, when the rising rate becomes lower than the predetermined value, a buzzer 6 for performing information urging the reading of the temp. displayed on the display device 4 as bodily temp. is operated. Further, CPU 9 calculates the difference value between the max. temp. and the measured temp. to detect that the difference value reached the predetermined value or more and discriminates that the measured temp. begins to fall to measure the predetermined time from the discrimination point of time and the operation stop function of a switch 5 is prohibited during said time.
