PURPOSE:To make it possible to maintain a high friction coefficient by arranging an adhering foreign matter removing means having a sweeping body capable of contacting the surface of a bobbin holder drive ring corresponding to the bobbin holder located in a standby position, either by the side of or under a turret disk. CONSTITUTION:During normal winding, a swing arm 6 and a cover 8 are positioned in standby positions. At this time, a felt piece 7 is accommodated within the cover 8 and protected from being smeared with oily material being dispersed around it. Then, before a turret motion for automatic thread changeover begins, a spare bobbin holder 3 begins approach rotation. Just before the spare bobbin holder starts approach rotation, an automatic adhering foreign matter removing means 5 works to press the felt piece 7 against a drive ring 4 by means of contraction of a fluid pressure cylinder 15. Under this condition, the approach run is started, adhering foreign matter is removed from the surface of the drive ring 4 which then returns to the standby position in a few seconds. Thus, sufficient transmission torque is obtained to prevent success rate of thread changeover from lowering.
