The invention relates to a wood-burning supply furnace for boilers comprising a metallic outer shell 1, an insulating layer 2 applied to the inside thereof, a metallic inner shell 3, a grating 4 with assigned primary-air duct and a fire tube 5 for supplying the resulting heating gases to the boiler. Known wood-burning supply furnaces have, due to an inner lining with fireclay bricks, the disadvantage of a high weight and the high heat accumulation which prevents optimisation of the heating gases produced. To obtain a lightweight construction with greatest possible heat delivery to the boiler, the wood-burning supply furnace according to the invention is characterised in that the metallic inner shell 3 is equipped on its outside with a plurality of axially parallel stiffening ribs 9, the outer edges 10 of which bear against the inner circumference of the insulating layer 2 and which form a free air space 11 between the insulating layer 2 and the inner shell 3, in that the stiffening ribs 9 alternatively form upper and lower air passages 12, and in that for the primary-air supply a supply-air opening 18 is arranged in the region of the fire tube 5 and at least one air nozzle 19 is arranged on the side opposite the fire tube 5 underneath the grating 4 in the inner shell 3.
