The invention relates to an inlet port system for an internal combustion engine with two inlet valves per cylinder, in which a double inlet port branches into two single inlet ports and in which a flap is provided for deflecting the air flow into a single inlet port. In order to minimise the resulting flow loss, the flap is supported in the area of the edge formed by a lateral wall of the double inlet port and an intake-side housing wall of the cylinder head.
