PURPOSE:To readily form a predetermined difference in step between a polishing roller and guide rollers by means of rotation retaining means and to enhance polishing work efficiency by providing a second revolving shaft having the guide rollers by decentering against a first revolving shaft having the polishing roller. CONSTITUTION:A shaft 76 journalled to the lower end part of a head base 38 by means of a bearing 72 is placed on the polishing head 22 of a polishing machine. The shaft 76 has a coaxial shaft main body 76A, a reduced diameter part 76C, and reduced diameter parts 76B, 76D decentered against the reduced diameter part 76C. A guide roller 80, a polishing roller 78, and a guide roller 82 are rotatably engaged with each reduced diameter part, 76C, 76B, and 76D. A polishing tape 28 for polishing the surface of a color filter 12 mounted on a polishing base 16 is wound on the polishing roller 78. The guide rollers 80, 82 turn the shaft 76 to adjust the amount of difference in step F between the guide rollers and the polishing roller 78. Thus, an interval between the polishing tape 28 and the color filter 12 is changed to constantly retain the step. |
