PURPOSE: To improve luminance relating to a liquid crystal display board. CONSTITUTION: This board is provided with a first transparent plate covered with an electrode array 14, a second transparent plate 30 covered with a counter electrode and a liquid crystal film inserted between the first plate and the second plate 30 for diffusing surrounding light at the time of not being electrically excited and becoming transparent at the time of being electrically excited. On the surface of one of the first transparent plate and the second transparent plate 30, a coating layer 40 composed of a material provided with a property for diffusing the surrounding light with the luminance larger than the liquid crystal film without excitation is formed and the coating layer 40 is provided with an opening part 42 corresponding to the electrode 14 of the first transparent plate.
