PURPOSE: To obtain a method for controlling the intermediate voltages of a constant voltage inverter and a variable voltage inverter constituting a composite reactive power compensator. CONSTITUTION: Output voltages from a constant voltage inverter 4 and a variable voltage inverter 7 are added in series on the secondary of transformers 3, 6 and connected in parallel with a power system 1. A DC voltage control means 60, i.e., an intermediate DC circuit in the variable voltage inverter 7, is connected in parallel with an intermediate DC circuit in the constant voltage inverter 4 which controls the DC voltage by regulating the effective power from the power system 1 thus sustaining a constant DC voltage similarly to the intermediate DC circuit in the constant voltage inverter 4. |
