PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect an over-run clutch in D range three speeds for which no engine brake operation range is set up, only when the selection of gear goes in lock-up connection. SOLUTION: The speed change controller of an automatic transmission in which epicyclic gear groups 13 and 14, a reverse clutch 15, a high clutch 16, a forward clutch 17, an over-run clutch 18, a brake band 19, a low and reverse brake 20, a forward one-way clutch 21 and an one-way clutch 22, are interposed between an input and an output shaft 11 and 12, executes a control program for over-run clutch connection control based on input signals from the various kinds of sensors, and only when the selection of gear goes in ODonD range three speeds, and in lock-up connection, an engine brake operation range is set up in a small opening range for acceleration, so that the over-run clutch 18 can thereby be connected. |
