PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the processing speed of an arithmetic control processing part irrelevantly to specified control contents and to enables quick-response musical sound generation by the musical sound generating device wherein a waveform memory sound source part and the arithmetic control processing part share a waveform program memory. SOLUTION: The musical sound generating device 1 is so constituted that an externally connected waveform program ROM 100 is shared by an internal sound source part 20 and a CPU 30. The musical sound generating device 1 is provided with five kinds of operation mode and two kinds of sound source mode, i.e., 32-phonic and 16-phonic sounding modes, and the sound source modes are made to correspond to the operation modes. When an operation mode is selected, the corresponding sound source mode is set in a mode register 23a. When the set value indicates the 32-phonic simultaneous sounding mode, an access management part 10 sets the right to access the waveform program ROM 100 twice for every sounding channel to the sound source part 20 and when the set value indicates the 16-phonic simultaneous sounding mode, the access management part 10 sets the right to access the waveform program ROM 100 twice for every odd-numbered sounding channel to the sound source part 20. |
