摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a write-once-read-many information recording medium which enables information to be recorded and reproduced with high density and performance at a level sufficiently suitable for practical use, by using short-wavelength laser light such as blue laser light. <P>SOLUTION: This write-once-read-many information recording medium 28 is equipped with a transparent resin substrate 20 wherein a concentric or spiral groove 21 is formed, and the recording film 24 which is formed on the groove on the transparent resin substrate. In the medium 28, the recording film is formed of one organic dye which has an anion part and a dye part, and wherein a maximum absorption wavelength area exists on the side of a longer-wavelength than the wavelength of the short-wavelength laser light applied to the recording film; and a recording mark, which is formed on the recording film by the application of the short-wavelength laser light, has a higher light reflectance than that of the recording film before the application of the short-wavelength laser light.
