The wheel is particularly for a vehicle esp. electrically powered vehicle with a brake which is only operated at limited vehicle speeds. The wheel disc (16) which is essentially shaped like a flat cylinder has one part (20) welded at a certain point (17) to the bed of the wheel flange to give an internal and external cylindrical shape. The inner surface (21) of this part (20) is machined to a smooth finish to create a surface running concentrically to the complete wheel. This surface (21) is used in the braking system where a brake shoe (22) can be pressed against it. A separate brake drum is not required.
