<p>Appts. for steaming textile materials in continuous form, in which the material remains for a certain dwell time to enable reactions to occur in treatment agents, comprises a closed housing with inlet and exit slots, within which one series of rollers forms a zig-zag path for the fabric, and a second, coplanar, series forms a roller conveyor for the cuttled fabric. At least one of the conveyor rollers can be switched, from outside the housing, into an alternative position in which it keeps the fabric out of contact with the conveyor rollers. The equipment can be used either for a long, slow treatment with min. reagent application, or for a rapid treatment with higher reagent application and the fabric kept longitudinally taut, to avoid development of creases. The conversion from one configuration to the other is simple and rapid, requiring neither re-threading of the fabric nor opening of the housing with consequent heat losses and loss of prodn.</p> |
