<p>A suspension of gypsum to which a dyestuff may have been added is cast into a mould having a smooth hard surface, for the production of objects of imitation marble. Before the suspension is poured in, the mould may be painted with a dyestuff. The mould is transparent and is for pref. of an acrylic glass or a polyester. The surface of the casting is polished with wax, and the prod. is a relatively cheap substitute for marble, since the mould makes it unnecessary to grind and polish the castings.</p> |
