A gear coupler for coupling a gear (24) to a shaft (14) comprising a first coupling member (12) which is connected for rotation with the shaft (14) and a second coupling member (18a) connected for rotation with the gear (24) and engageable by the first coupling member (12). The second coupling member is capable of limited circumferential movement relative to the gear (24) to allow the first and second coupling members to engage each other without the need to rotate the gear.
