摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a uniform and extremely thin oriented film with high efficiency by including a process to irradiate the film with energy beams through a desired mask for the crosslinking reaction of energy beam-sensitive groups. SOLUTION: A photosensitive liquid is directly applied on the surface of a glass substrate 2 on which a transparent electrode 1 is preliminarily formed so as to form a photosensitive and thermosetting coating film 3. Then, a diffraction grating 4 to be used as a mask is set with the grating parallel to the electrode pattern to irradiate the film 3 with UV rays 5 as energy beams in the perpendicular direction to crosslink photosensitive benzalacetophenon groups. Thus, a rugged pattern is formed on the film surface. After the film is exposed through the grating, a polarizing plate 6 for UV rays to be used as a mask is arranged in such a manner that the polarizing direction is perpendicular to the diffraction grating pattern and that the incident angle of beams is 45 degrees from the substrate. Then, the film is irradiated with UV rays 5 as energy beams to crosslink the residual unreacted energy beam-sensitive groups.
