<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the voltage dropping amount of an electric double layer capacitor due to its self-discharge by reducing the uncharged capacitance of the capacitor and increasing the short-circuit resistance of the capacitor. SOLUTION: In a method, a low self-discharge type electric double layer capacitor composed of electrodes, an electrolytic solution, etc., is manufactured. The voltage dropping amount of the capacitor caused by the self-discharge of the capacitor is reduced by impressing and holding a voltage which is higher than the rated voltage of the capacitor. In the capacitor, the ratio C2/C1 of the uncharged capacitance C2 to the normal capacitance C1 of an equivalent circuit component is adjusted to <=0.25. In addition, the ratio R3/R1 of the normal parallel resistance to the normal internal resistance R1 is adjusted to >=5×105.</p> |
