PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method and device for water level capable of measuring water level by photographing method without extending construction region to underwater. SOLUTION: Under the control of a control device 14 cooperating with a memory 13, the horizontal position of a water meter plate is detected from the photograph image taken in a specific region including the water meter plate placed in a river. By detecting the inclination of the water meter plate, the image inclination is corrected based on the plate inclination, the corrected position in the horizontal direction of the water meter plate corrected for the inclination is surveyed and the horizontal position is detected in the image corrected for the inclination. The boundary between the water level detected in the inclination-corrected image and the inclination-corrected water meter plate is detected, the scale digits of the inclination-corrected water meter plate at the detected boundary are read and the water level is measured from the scale of the water meter plate. |
