1424502 Activated, germicidal bleaching composition AMERICAN CYANAMID CO 14 Feb 1974 [21 March 1973] 6868/74 Heading A5E [Also in Divisions C2 Dl and D2] A percompound activator in a germicidal bleaching composition is an azine compound selected from ring-halogenated pyrimidine. pyrazine, quinoxaline and pyridine derivatives having at least one further substituent selected from halogen, cyano, nitro, alkyl (1-5 C), and alkoxy (1-5 C). The activator : percompound mole ratio is preferably from 1:1 to 1:10. The percompound is preferably sodium perborate or percarbonate, or hydrogen peroxide. The composition may further comprise a detergent, e.g. an alkylaryl sulphonate. It may be used for germicidally treating water. |
