<p>This disclosure relates to an incremental adjusting device for a roll of a rolling mill. The device includes two cooperative sliding bars arranged back to back and each having an equal number of steps, the steps of one bar being fine compared to the coarse steps of the other bar. A piston cylinder assembly selectively moves the coarse and fine steps between the mill housing and the bearing chocks of the roll when the mill is unloaded in order to maintain the roll at a predetermined passline of the mill during rolling.</p> |
