<p>Along the length of each safety route are installed lockers containing smoke respirators, goggles and lifelines. These lockers can be wall mounted or located on the ceiling and have simple flaps opened by hand or by an electrical signal from a central control room. Automatic operation by the alarm system is also possible. Each lifeline (6) is permanently connected to guide rollers (5) running in a track (3, 4) suspended from the ceiling and leading to the exit. Spacers and buffers (7) are provided to ensure correct operation and each lifeline has loops along its length for escaping persons to hold and follow the tracks.</p> |
