The matching circuit for the DC intermediate stage of an AC to AC converter includes a T-shaped cell (4) whose vertical branch includes a free-wheeling thyristor (18). The horizontal branch includes an inductance (16) whose value is equal to the total inductance of the motors (1) driven by the AC output of the converter. An additional thyristor is connected to shunt the inductance to suppress its effect during switching of thyristors in the output convertor. The circuit is intended to prevent the formation of variable frequency harmonics in the power supply network during switching of thyristors in the static converter. It may be used in a circuit supplying power to the motor of a railway engine, preventing the formation of harmonics in the supply which are difficult to remove by filtering.
|
