The lid is operated by pressing pressure bellows (4) which activates thrust bellows (5) which expands in a straight line and is coupled to the lid (3), which hinges on a spindle (6). Both bellows (4,5) are filled with gas and/or liquid. There can be an over-centre holder (7) between the thrust bellows and the lid, and which allows the latter to swing further and clear of the bellows. Several annular recesses of different diameters can be formed in the lid, these being tangential to the lid edge at the bellows. Instructions for use, together with drawings, can be provided on the lid or bellows.
