PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish an efficient network by setting automatically link information in a programmable controller for a master station side by an initial cycle sending a test frame to each remote station so as to relieve the load such as a link information setting tool. SOLUTION: A sequence arithmetic module 100 and a communication module (master station) 102 or the like are connected by a bus and the master station 102 and each of remote modules 104-116 are connected in two-way communication by one transmission line 120. Then station information of the master station 102 is set to a reply frame of a test frame with respect to each of the remote modules 104-116 in the initial cycle at application of power and the station information of each remote module is sent to a programmable controller (PLC) in the initial cycle and link information including number of remote modules, type of input output of each remote module and number of the modules is set automatically to the PLC.
