A brushless synchronous electric motor comprises a stator (2) which has, viewed in cross-section, along a right-angled cross-sectional plane with respect to the rotor axis, a substantially rectangular shape. The stator has internally a plurality of slots (4) which house a stator electric winding. The slots extend lengthwise in a direction parallel to the axis of the rotor (3) and are distributed circumferentially around the rotor within two arcs of a circumference, each having an amplitude ( alpha ) equal to about a whole fraction of the flat angle and being situated on diametrically opposite sides with respect to the rotor axis. The motor is able to achieve a relatively high peak torque in relation to its dimensions. |
