STRETCHABLE CLOTH AND STRETCHABLE YARN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stretchable cloth composed of a polyurethane elastic fiber and a polyester fiber and having excellent durability such as light resistance and hot water resistance. SOLUTION: The objective cloth is composed of a polyester fiber and a polyurethane elastic fiber made of a polyurethane produced by using a saturated hydrocarbon polymer having hydroxyl group on the terminal as the polymer polyol. A stretchable yarn comprising the polyurethane elastic yarn or a yarn produced by covering the outer surface of the polyurethane elastic yarn with staple fiber, spun yarn or filament of a polyester fiber is woven or knit with a spun or filament polyester fiber to obtain the objective cloth. As an alternative, the cloth is produced by weaving or knitting exclusively with a stretchable yarn produced by covering the outer surface of a polyurethane elastic yarn with a polyester yarn. The cloth preferably contains the polyurethane elastic fiber in an amount of 3-20 wt.%.
