PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate a blast furnace without generating blow-through for a long term. SOLUTION: A furnace top gas energy E0 of the blow-through limit at a furnace opening part of the blast furnace is pre-obtained or this gas energy is pre-calculated based on the diameter of the furnace opening part, a furnace volume and a furnace top pressure, and then, at least anyone among a coke ratio, a pulverized fine coal ratio, a blasting condition or furnace top pressure in the blast furnace is adjusted so that the gas energy E in the furnace at the furnace opening part of the blast furnace calculated by using a furnace top gas flow rate, the furnace top temperature and the furnace top pressure becomes amaller than the pre-calculated furnace top gas energy E0 of the blow-through limit in the furnace opening part. Thus, not only in the case of not charging operating condition, but olso even in the case of much charging operating condition, the flowings of charged material and gas at the furnace top part can be stabilized and the blast furnace can be operated without generating the blow-through for a long time.
