Method and device for measuring evenness in webs

To measure the flatness of a belt surface, and especially a metal belt (1) passing through the belt processing line, the tensile forces (Fx) are registered by a sensor as a measurement roller (2) with an integrated measurement beam (4), at least in sectioned draw tensions (sigmax(y)) across the belt width (B, y). The tensile forces are measured in succession and added together at a processing unit (3) to give a force addition function, to establish the draw tension distribution function over the belt width.
