PURPOSE:To connect dummy bars in a continuous casting device for twin blooms and triple blooms automatically and surely to chanin-like bodies and to improve the efficiency of continuous casting work by incorporating an upward insertion system by specific construction for said dummy bars. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of casting two pieces of blooms continuously and simultaneously with a continuous casting device for twin blooms, in an ingot conveying route consisting of many rolls 37 right under a mold 36, a backing plate 38 is mounted at the position facing the working rods 10 of the operating bodies 6 of chain-like bodies 2, 3 connecting to dummy bars 1. A dummy bar car 39 is moved to transfer its insertion ports 39a to right above a mold 36. The connecting rod 15 of the bars 1 thereon is inserted into the square grooves of the bodies 6. Further, the bars 1 are inserted into the mold 36, and when the head parts of the rods 10 about on the plate 38, the connecting rod 15 connects the bodies 2, 3 to each other by means of a lock lever device, so that the two dummy bar heads 2b, 2b are moved downward simultaneously in the mold 36. |
