PURPOSE:To maintain containers inside the hold of a multipurpose cargo ship in good conditions as well as to facilitate the unloading of such containers stowed in the lower layer, by installing a chocking beam, which is provided with container corner metal fitting engaging parts vertically in a rotatable manner, on a side wall inside the hold. CONSTITUTION:On a side wall 5 inside the hold of a multipurpose cargo ship capable of stowing containers together with bulk cargoes and regular spaped cargoes, a chocking beam 1 for the purpose of guiding and keeping containers is installed. Length of this beam 1 is longer than the width for one piece of containers 3 stowed in the hold and provided with rotatable container corner part engaging fittings 7 in a vertical direction centering on a rotary shaft 6. For such a part where the beam fails to reach, containers are supported by way of single guide fittings 10. With these fittings 7 rendered freely rotatably, upper and lower adjacent containers only can be handled for taking in and out when containers stacked in the lower layer are unloaded. |
