PURPOSE:To suppress the slipping off of an active material and improve the drop strength and vibration resistance when a storage battery is comprised by vertically protruding a wedge-shaped protrusion at a grid frame made of synthetic resin for the thickness direction of a grid body. CONSTITUTION:A grid type substrate 1 with a cross section form on with a wedge- shaped protrusion 3 is formed. A cross section type grid-shaped substrate 1 provided with a wedge-shaped protrusion 3 that vertically protrudes for the length or width direction of a grid body is formed with polypropylene at a part of a grid frame 2. A plate is obtained by filling two pair of lead-synthetic resin grid bodies in which a lead or lead alloy thin film 4 is formed by dipping a part of the substrate 1 in melted lead or lead alloy with a paste type active material made of lead oxide, dilute sulfuric acid, water, and additives and drying them. In this case, it is recommended that the length lof the wedge-shaped protrusion 3 is 0.25 to 0.5mm.. When the protrusion is too short, the structural retention force of the paste type active material is weakened and when it is too long, the rear of the wedge-shaped protrusion 3 will not be filled with paste when it is filled with the paste type active material. As a result, bad effects such as insufficiency of the amount of active material or reduction of the electrode reaction area occur. |
