PURPOSE:To reduce the self discharge which occurs in a short leaving time after charging by using thick electrode plates and allocating and installing anode at both sides of cathode, so that the reduction reaction of oxygen gas proceeds fast and efficiently. CONSTITUTION:An anode active substance and a cathode active substance are coated on each grid plate which is divided by insulator 5 of collector 4 so that an anode plate 2 and a cathode plate are formed 1, and an electrolyte solution carrier 3 is installed in the thickness direction. Thick electrode plates are permissible, so that they are prevented from torsion and twist and durable against physical changes of the active substances in their use, and no space is formed between the electrode plate and the separator member. By the arrangement, capture and reduction recovery of oxygen gas generated at the cathode plate during charging are easily and fast carried out, and almost all of oxygen gas are captured and reduced at the anode when charging is completed resulting in a remarkable reduction of residual oxygen gas. |
