The longitudinal seal bonds together at least two layers of sheet material. The packaging bag further has two transverse seals extending parallel to the bag width and intersecting the longitudinal seal. Each transverse seal bonds together at least two layers of sheet material. A tear-open slit is provided in the longitudinal seal and passes through at least three layers of sheet material of the packaging bag.
