The present invention relates to devices for transmitting a light energy beam 1, like the one emitted by a laser generator 2, to a machining point 3. The device according to the invention is essentially characterised in that it includes an optical fibre 4 transmitting the light beam 1, first means 15 for generating a first signal proportional to the amount of energy entering the fibre, second means 17 for generating a second signal proportional to the amount of energy exiting the fibre 4, means for comparing the magnitude of the first and second signals and for delivering a third signal representing the result of the comparison, the first and second means for generating the first and second signals being respectively formed by first 16 and second 18 sensors for sensing the energy derived respectively via the entry face 5 and via the exit face 6 of the fibre 4. <IMAGE>
