Electrical power supply e.g. for bicycle or wheel-chair

The power supply (1) contains a permanent magnet (2) attached to the wheel (6) and a coil (3) attached to the vehicle so that the magnet passes close by and along the coil when the wheel rotates. The AC in the coil is rectified and fed to a capacitor circuit which enables continuous energy extraction. The capacity of the capacitor circuit is so high that energy can be extracted for a certain period even when the wheel is stationary. The coil has a displacement device (13,14) which enables it to be moved w.r.t. the path of motion of the permanent magnet.
