CIRCUIT BREAKER HAVING CIRCUIT BREAKER UNIT AND PROCESSING/CALIBRATION/COMMUNICATION MODULES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance interchangeability of a trip device. SOLUTION: This circuit breaker is equipped with a circuit breaker unit and this unit is mounted with a communication module 4, a processing module 2 and a calibration module 3. The communication module 4 communicates with the processing module only via an electrically isolated coupling 11, preferably via an optical coupling. The calibration module 3 is electrically connected to the processing module. Further, the communication module 4 is mechanically connected to the part of the circuit breaker unit indicating a state of the circuit breaker and bidirectionally connected 28 electrically to an external communication bus. An interface 23 connected to the circuit breaker unit supports an auxiliary module 3 and an additional module 15 which has information indicating breaking capacity of the circuit breaker and is connected electrically to the processing module 2.
