PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of component items and simplification of a work process, and hence reduce a manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: This shift lever device 12 is equipped with a shift lever 10 for changing the shift range of a transmission and pivotally supported on a base member 18 made of metal by means of a shaft 16 on a lower end part of the shift lever 10. A protective housing 70 made of metal for housing a power transistor etc., is integrally formed with the base member 18. When the power transistor generates heat, the heat is transmitted not only to the protective housing 70 but to the base member 18, thereby enabling the heat to be dissipated also from the base member 18. This dispenses with provision of conventional fins, or the like. The integral formation of the base member 18 with the protective housing 70 can reduce the number of component items and can reduce a manufacturing cost.
