PURPOSE: A portable terminal device having car navigation and geographical information display functions is provided to receive its own position information and car navigation and geographical information according to position information from a specific device which manages car navigation and geographical information, and display received information. CONSTITUTION: A GPS(Global Positioning System) receiving unit(210) receives GPS data from a GPS satellite. A wireless transmitting/receiving unit(230) performs a data communication with an external device which provides peripheral geographical information and car navigation information through a wireless Internet. An I/F(Interface) unit(220) provides an interface with a car driver. An information provider(240) provides peripheral geographical information and car navigation information received from the external device to the car driver. A control unit(250) controls the wireless transmitting/receiving unit(230) and the information provider(240) for receiving peripheral geographical information and car navigation information requested by the car driver from the external device through the I/F unit(220) and providing received information to a user.
