PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tensioner lever for a gearing simplifying the structure and reducing the weight of the tensioner lever, reducing molding accuracy and assembling labor, easily separated and dismantled, and suited to recycling. SOLUTION: This tensioner lever for the gearing comprises a resin shoe member 10 having a shoe surface 10a allowing a chain or a belt to slide-contact therewith when it travels longitudinally, and a shoe rear surface 10b which is formed with a plunger receiver part 11 allowing a plunger T1 of the tensioner T to freely press and abut thereon in the adjacency to the swinging tip, a lever journal part 12 allowing a lever fitting shaft to penetrate therethrough in its swinging base end, and a shape retaining groove part 13 extending in the lever longitudinal direction including the plunger receiver 11 and the lever journal part 12; and a strength retaining plate 20 having one part fitted in the longitudinal direction of the shape retaining groove part 13 and most parts exposed in a suspended state.
