PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater capable of controlling the heating to reduce the difference between a set temperature and an actual room temperature when the set temperature is comparatively low. SOLUTION: In the heater having a function for stopping the driving of a heat source when a temperature detected by a room temperature detecting means is over the set temperature, to adjust the room temperature, a control part is constituted to stop the driving of the heat source when the temperature detected by the room temperature detecting means is over the set temperature, and to allow a room temperature adjusting function to be effectively acted only when the actual indoor temperature and the detected temperature are approximately equal to each other and specific conditions are satisfied.
