1398913 Building blocks IDRISSPATENT ANSTALT 5 June 1972 [26 June 1971] 26116/ 72 Heading E1B Building blocks for constructing masonry structures having one or more internal service receiving channels defined by said blocks include at least one U-section block having at least two areas of weakness 33 and 34 lying generally in the planes of the inner faces of the flanges of the U so that the U-section blocks can be split into derivative elements modularly related thereto. A further plane of weakness may be provided. The blocks may be of double U-section (Fig. 125). The blocks may be used with rectangular blocks corresponding to the derivative elements and further large rectangular blocks having lines of weakness allowing them to be split into derivative elements. The web of the U-section block may be double the length shown in Figure 1. The blocks and their derivative elements may be used as permanent shuttering for reinforced concrete walls and pillars as infill in curtain walling structures, and for forming lintels, copings and facings. |
