The objective of the present invention is to attenuate, in a headlight using a transparent light distributing member, the unevenness in brightness occurring in the vicinity of a cut-off line when a high beam is lit. This headlight light source comprises the light distributing member (3) whereby a low beam cut-off line is formed. The light distributing member (3) comprises an entry surface (3a) allowing light from a low beam LED (8) to enter, and an entry surface (3b) allowing a portion of the light emitted from an overlap LED (9) to enter, the overlap LED (9) emitting a radiating light that forms a high beam by overlapping with the radiating light from the low beam. According to the configuration, when the high beam is lit, the light emitted by the overlap LED (9) is radiated not only on the upper side of the cut-off line but also on the lower side thereof, and attenuates the unevenness in brightness in the vicinity of the cut-off line. |
