PURPOSE:To reduce the distortion of the picture image at the circumferential section of screen and stabilize it, by providing a wall face electrode at the predetermined position in the circumferential area between the phosphor face and the back face electrode, then applying a fixed potential. CONSTITUTION:A wall face electrode 9 is provided in the circumferential area between a phosphor face 4 and a back face electrode 5 particularly in the portion closely facing the inner circumferential wall face of a tube 1, then the phosphor face potential is applied on it. The wall face 9 is formed with a conductive layer which is made of antimony trisulfide, carbon, etc. previously spread directly on the inner circumferential wall face of the tube 1 such as the circumferential wall face 1b2 of a substrate disc. Said wall face electrode 9 and the phosphor face 4 or the target electrode 3 are electrically connected. |
