PURPOSE:To perform the batch comparison between an input data symbol string and plural pattern symbol strings by transmitting signals to a holding means arrayed in a matrix form in response to the coincidence degree of codes between the registered pattern symbol string and the input data symbol string. CONSTITUTION:The coincidence is obtained between the code of an input data symbol string and the head code of a pattern symbol string registered to an external signal memory means 1 and the external signal showing said coincidence is outputted from the means 1 in response to the relevant position. Then the internal signals outputted from an internal signal supply means 9 set in response to the head position of said pattern symbol string are transmitted to the internal signal holding means 11 and 13 via gate means 10 and 12. In such a case these internal signals are sent to the internal signal holding means arrayed in a matrix form in response to the coincidence degree between the input data symbol string and the pattern symbol string. Thus the banch comparison is possible between plural pattern symbol strings and the input data symbol string according to a specific internal signal holding means containing the internal signal.
