PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to provide an image formed on a recording medium with always constant gloss by providing the device with an image quality adjusting means for heating and/or pressing the recording medium on which the image is formed by tranferring and fixing a toner image. SOLUTION: In a transferring and fixing means 50, a recording paper S onto which a multicolor toner image is transferred/fixed is reheated in the image quality adjusting means 80 disposed in the midway position of a paper ejecting path and the image quality, especially, the gloss of the image is adjusted and optimized. The image quality adjusting means 80 consists of thermal rollers 81 and 82, that is, rubber rollers constituted in such a manner that aluminum hollow core metals are coated with a silicone rubber whose thickness is 2mm and the outermost layers are coated with a silicone resin whose thickness is 100μm and heating sources are fitted inside. Each of these rollers 81 and 82 is set so that for instance, the surface roughness is <=Rz0.1 and the hardness in a roller surface is 74 deg. (Asker C). The rollers 81 and 82 come into press- contact with the recording paper S led between the rollers 81 and 82 with the pressure of 50Kgf to form a nip of 5mm. |
