HAEMOPHILIA ASSAY

A method for assaying a compound for ability to reduce the clotting time in a subject suffering from haemophilia, comprising the steps of: developing a temporary haemophilia in a test animal; bringing together blood from the test animal and the compound to be tested; determining the bleeding or clotting time; and comparing the same with the bleeding or clotting time for blood from untreated test animals, wherein the temporary haemophilia is induced by administering to the test animal a bleeding time increasing amount of an antibody fo Factor VIII:C raised in a non-human mammal different from the test animal as response to an immunization using human or porcine Factor VIII or fragments thereof.
