The self-contained unit (RI), used for interactive transmission of information between a receiver (RCP) restituting a broadcast program (ERD), the unit and a validating station (SV), comprises a timing counter initializable in response to timing initialization information restituted by the receiver, a memory containing a unit identifier, a control element (CL) capable of being manually actuated by a user of the unit, controlling means for storing in the said memory the current value on the counter at each actuation of the control element, and a controllable restitution means for restituting outside the unit by inference from a voice server (SV), restitution information containing at least the unit identifier and each current value of the counter stored in the memory.
