PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double row ball bearing capable of heightening the shaft stiffness certainly and suppressing vibrations and noises as much as possible. SOLUTION: The double row ball bearing is equipped with a stepped shaft 1 having a minor diametric portion 3 to admit mounting of an inner ring 2 and a major diametric portion 5 furnished with a rolling groove 4 and an outer ring member 6 and is arranged so that the inner ring 2 is fixed to the minor diametric portion 3 in the condition that a preload is given to the inner ring 2, wherein the major diametric portion 5 is formed so that its distance L in the axial direction is longer than the distance LG from the end on the side with the portion 5 to the center of gravity G of the outer ring member 6.
